The test is open to all recognized pointing breeds and is being held under the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club.

The details
- FJD, FD and FDA will be single course with bird field.
- FDX and FDXCh will both be a single course.
- Chukar will be used in all categories. Ducks/chukar/pigeons will be used for the FDX water retrieve.
- Gunning will be done by 'official' gunners only.
- FDJ and FD dogs will be run individually. FDA, FDX and FDXCh dogs will be run in braces.
- Handlers must carry a starter pistol and for safety reasons all entrants must wear blaze orange clothing and a blaze orange hat.
- If a dog is not present at its starting pointing within 5 minutes after it is called for by the judges it may be disqualified.
- No training or running of the dogs on the ground during, before, or after the tests.
- Standard CKC blue ribbons will be presented to all dogs with qualifying scores.
- Certificates will be given to the Top Dog in each each category and the Top Brittany in each category.
- A Gunners Award will be presented. It will chosen by the 'official gunners' from all dogs entered each day.
- Bitches in season are not permitted on the grounds.
- A current record of vaccination for the dog may be required.
- We expect that everyone attending our tests will behave in a manner that is respectful and appropriate to the dogs, owners, handlers and volunteers.
- We believe that anyone or any dog participating in any of our field tests should not be subjected to any indignity of any kind during the test and that it is our duty and obligation to see that this is carried out. If anyone reports an alleged indignity to us, our Field Test Committee will conduct an investigation, make a decision or ruling and then report to the Canadian Kennel Club. The Discipline Committee of the CKC shall then have the power to take such action as it sees fit.
the running order
- The order and time of tests will be determined once the entries are closed at Tuesday May 2, 2023 at 5 pm. The order will be 'random'. Specific times cannot be assigned.
- The drawing for the running order will take place at the home of the Test Secretary on May 2, 2023 at 8 pm
- Start times each day (approximately 8 am on Saturday and 9 am on Sunday) will depend on the number of dogs entered
- All entries will be notified of the running order before the test. Changes often occur during the two-days of tests so be sure to arrive one hour before your scheduled run. If any other changes are likely entrants will be advised by the Test Secretary as soon as possible.
- It is the responsibility of the entrants to confirm receipt of entries and running times.
- By registering and payment of fees entrants agree to release the CKC, BSCO and its judges, members, directors, volunteers, and landowners from any claim for loss of damages respecting personal injury (including death) and property (including loss or injury to dogs) that might arise in any way from anything to do with the test. They also agree to comply with the requirements of the premium list.

All entries are $65.00 for each test entered.
Dogs not registered by the CKC must pay an additional fee of $10.00 plus tax.
This is called the Temporary Competition Fee on the form.
